Going on a frugal vacation.

Tip: Depending on where you are traveling, try buying food supplies when you arrive a a place like Wal-Mart, Target, or Costco rather than depend on restaurants and fast food.  You can save a ton and because you are buying it there you save on space.

Tip: Know your kids.  A vacation with a lot of walking attractions, like historical destinations, can be great but your kids have to be able to walk it all and stay focused as well.  Younger children will only tolerate so much before they get cranky.  Either break up the walking part or understand you have to save some of the history for when they are older.
